Any new H1N1 flu shot news?

Any places around town with H1N1 shots available?

The health dept had them for free on thursday. I dragged my family and we sat in lawn chairs for 2 and a half hours to get one.

Scott & White also has some I believe.

S&W has shots on Tuesday of next week for A&M employees that have the S&W insurance.

This announcement was sent to the employees this week---
HR Announces H1N1 Flu Vaccines Available For Scott & White Plan Participants

Texas A&M’s Human Resources has announced that Scott & White in College Station now has sufficient supplies of H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine for any Scott & White patient 6 months or older. Due to CDC regulations, individuals must be current Scott & White patients -- seen within the last two years -- to receive the vaccine. Healthy patients ages 2-49 years old are encouraged to receive FluMist. The Scott & White Flu Clinic will be open in the 1700 Building at entrance 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 18), Thursday (Nov. 19) and Tuesday (Nov. 24)

I got my H1N1 last night and they were out of the seasonal shots.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago and glad I did. My son was home from school for 4 days week before last with the H1N1 and he was miserable.

I do have a question, though. The health department said that none of us needed a second dose. However, the CDC website says that all children under age 9 need a second dose. I'm particularly concerned for my 7 month old who has not ever received any kind of flu vaccine before this. From what I've read, only 30% of kids are protected after 1 dose, but 100% are protected after 2 doses.

Has anyone had any experience with presenting info to the Health Department to receive services contrary to their policy? I don't think talking to our pediatrician will help, because they turned all their H1N1 doses over to the Health Department, which is why we went there in the first place.

I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.

Outnumbered Mom- Your kids will need a 2nd dose of H1N1. When we got ours, they failed to tell me that my kids needed a second dose as well.
