Thoughts on where to eat dinner Saturday?

Date night with hubby tomorrow. Debating whether to go to P Madden's, The Republic, or Eccell Steakhouse. Thoughts???

republic or eccell. Can't go wrong.

Maddens!

There has only been ONE 4 diamond rated restaurant in the history of College Station-The Republic. If money is no object you will find no better dining experience in the Brazos Valley in my opinion.
And the bar scene gets pretty active late night when they have entertainment.

+1 Republic

You are absolutely right, gopitt. Everytime we go to the Republic, we are very pleased with the food and service. Can't say the same about the others, but it's been awhile since we've been.

sooooo tired of hearing about the 4 diamond thing. Really, it's starting to sound like an advertisement. And it's always the same 3 or 4 posters brining it up. AAA hasn't even been to half the restuarants on the OP's list so how is it even relevant to say it's the ONLY 4 diamond in town. IMO you're cheapening the restuarant by harping on it. The food and service can speak for itself.

The 4 star thing may be over rated, but the food and service at the Republic do speak for themselves. Impeccable service and food quality. Every time we go. Again, can't say the same about Eccell or Madden's but we haven't been to either one in awhile, so just thought I'd get some input. Date nights don't come often enough for us, so we want to make the most of it.

Plan your dinner with this in mind:

The A&M/Baylor game will most likely end between 5:30pm to 6pm. Resturants will be busy tomorrow night!

Yes, we are surely making reservations when our decision is made.

Let me rephrase it for grumpy scotch then: the food, service and atmposphere is the best in town in my opinion.
And I have never heard of referring to a 4 diamond as "cheapening" it. There are people in this town that are not aware of that or the Wine Spectator Award. A lot of out of towners in for the game look for those type of things. Not everyone wants a freakin' burger.
And, again, no restaurant in the history of the Brazos Valley has been awarded it. So, yeah, it is a big deal for those that understand fine dining.

for my fine dining dollar, you can't beat chick-fil-a.

but if you need someplace without a sweet playground. we like to hit up the cafe excell (any of their three restaurants are awesome) and the cafe capri in downtown bryan.

I think you will do great with any of the three. Just make sure you have reservations. There are items at each that divinde. Just pick the one with the atmosphere you want.

Keep in mind that tomorrow (saturday) is a game day here so the restaurants will be BUSY, except DURING the game.

Republic by far is the best date night to be had.

Great drinks, service, food and the entertainment is always good.

If that is a tad rich-Christophers is often overlooked and yet I find their meals to be very nice. The snapper I had last night was GREAT.
